How does the ARTAS® Robotic System Work?

Dr. Weiss first trims the area of the scalp that will serve as hair extraction location and will apply a local anesthetic to the area. The ARTAS® Robotic System then creates a digital scan of your scalp and identify patterns and groupings. Dr. Weiss guides the ARTAS® System as it removes hairs from the back and sides of the scalp until an adequate amount of hair has been harvested for transplantation. The ARTAS® Robotic System will then meticulously place the harvested hair into the areas of thinning hair, where they will slowly begin to grow as permanent hair.

What is recovery from ARTAS® Hair Restoration like?

Dr. Weiss recommends patients to take one to two days to recover from ARTAS® hair restoration. In just seven days following the procedure, the donor and implantation areas appear normal. New hair begins to grow, and full results take about nine months.
